I am Zahid Ahmed applying for the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management offered by the university of Portsmouth. I completed my SSC from the Government Boys high school, Dhaka in 2014 with GPA of 4.70 and my HSC from the same institute with GPA 5.0 in 2016. After completing my HSC I did my bachelor’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the BRAC university in the year 2017-2021 and passed the course with a CGPA of 3.75. After completing my BSc course I worked for Daraz which is a leading multinational e-commerce website in Bangladesh. I worked at Daraz as a product handler for 8 months. Now, with an MSc degree in Logistics and supply chain management from the University of Portsmouth, I believe I can work in higher respectable positions in my country for companies like Daraz.
Getting an MSc degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will help me improve my business skills and mathematical analysis, and problem-solving skills for a modern operational career. This course will also teach me how to have better customer satisfaction when it comes to businesses, and how to deal with suppliers, different manufacturers, and consumers. The course modules of this MSc degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Portsmouth will be extremely helpful for me to build a better career life. The Operations Management module will help me overcome issues I can face while handling different operations and how to overcome them. Secondly, the supply chain management module will give me a good understanding of strategic issues related to supply chain management and also teach me to apply different forecasting methods.

The course module of the University of Portsmouth is well-arranged for international students like me who want to pursue a career in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Having a good study environment has been one of my main requirements when choosing a university which is why I have chosen this university. Moreover, the University of Portsmouth is ranked #8 in the South East of England. In a developing country like Bangladesh, a degree from a UK university is highly appreciated and valued when it comes to a career. I will be able to work for multinational companies in my country with high paid salary and top positions. Compared to countries like the USA and Canada I found that the course fees are more affordable in the UK. The course duration is only 1 year which is at least 2 years in other countries including my own country Bangladesh. These are my top reasons for choosing the UK instead of my own or some other country.
Once I return home, I am planning to work for multinational companies like Daraz, Evaly, and other big companies as a Manager, Supply chain management. A great number of multinational companies are starting their business in Bangladesh. Ensuring more and more work opportunities for a country like Bangladesh which is densely populated. I would like to use the opportunity to apply for jobs with a UK degree which will help my CV stand out. I am hoping to work in high positions for a multinational company in Bangladesh. I believe students like me can help in the further development of my country by getting a UK degree.
This will be a great opportunity and experience for me to study in the UK. I am very excited to see what the University of Portsmouth has to offer me and how they help me build a bright future ahead of me. I am hopeful that I will get the chance of getting an MSc degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Portsmouth and be able to build a strong career.
