Statement of Purpose (SOP) for BSc Computer Science

I am Rayhan Mustafiz born on the 12th of September, 1997. I completed my SSC with GPA 5.0 and HSC with GPA 5.0 as well. I am currently working for a software company located in Uttara Dhaka. I have been into technology and computers ever since I was a kid. I have done my personal homework and gained experience in video editing, graphics designing, and Java coding. Now, I would like to enrich my knowledge even further for a better future career which is why I have decided to apply for a BSc in computer science degree offered by the University of Roehampton London.
A BSc degree in computer science will help me understand computer fundamentals, and how a computer works. Studying this course will also give me a deeper understanding of computer languages, different computer programs, and more. Gaining a deeper understanding of the core fundamentals of computer science will greatly help me in my career life as most of my work will be dependent on a computer. I have gone through the University of Roehampton website and looked through the course modules. I found the course modules to be relevant to my previous work and future career. The software development module will help me understand software development better as it will teach me different computer languages, how to code, use different variables and etc. The operating system module will introduce me to different operating systems available for computers, how they work, and help me learn more about the overall computer management system.
I have chosen to study at the University of Roehampton after combing through a number of different universities online. I have found that this university has a very well-organized course module that is suitable for international students like me. The university of Rohempton is a well-reputed university through the university rankings. The lecturers are highly qualified and ready to serve their best to students. The University of Roehampton has a vibrant campus, a wonderful community, and a great environment which is very important for international students like me. Moreover, the university is located in London which ensures great work opportunities, a safe environment, and accommodation.
I previously took other countries into my consideration but found the UK to be the perfect study destination for me. The UK has a long history and tradition of providing an excellent quality of education. A lot of the universities including the University of Roehampton are top-ranked universities in the global top rankings. The course duration for Bachelor’s is 4 years in my country and also in some other countries that I had considered. However, in the UK I can finish the course in 3 years. The course duration for a Master’s degree in the UK is also 1 year which is at least 2 years in other countries. A bachelor’s degree in the UK will ensure great work opportunities for me in a developing country like Bangladesh. These are the main reasons why the UK really stands out from other countries for me. After coming back to my home country I will be working as a computer engineer for renowned IT companies in Bangladesh like Tiger IT, Brain Station, and Kazi IT.
I am looking forward to getting accepted into the University of Roehampton. This will be a new experience for me to study in the UK. I hope I can use my knowledge to make a change in my future career and in my home country Bangladesh.
